Terms of Use

This is the agreement between you and LE. It is written in plain language, because an agreement you cannot read is not one you made.

1. The agreement

These Terms are a contract between you and LE LLC, a North Dakota limited liability company ("LE," "we," "us"). They cover wearele.com, the LE app, and everything LE provides through them (together, "LE"). By creating an account or using LE you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy, which is part of them.

If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and agrees to them on your behalf. If you are using LE for a business, you accept these Terms for the business too, and you confirm you are allowed to.

If you do not agree, do not create an account. If you already have one, you can close it at any time from Settings.

2. The one principle

LE is built on one principle, and everything in this agreement follows from it: every person here has complete worth, and no one is above or below anyone else. No one's worth is anyone else's to award, to withhold, or to take. LE exists to hold a room where that is how people are seen and spoken to — by members, by businesses, and by LE itself.

Every rule in these Terms is an application of that principle, not an exception to it. Where any sentence here could be read two ways, it is to be read in the way that keeps that principle whole. Nothing in these Terms gives anyone — a member, a business, or LE — a standing above another person.

3. Who can be here

You must be at least 14 years old to hold an LE account. The information you give when you sign up must be true and yours. Your date of birth is how LE protects you and cannot be edited afterward. If you are under 18 you are asked to name two adults you feel safe with, and at least one is required; they are contacted only if LE believes you are in danger. You must be at least 18 to be the person answerable for a business account.

One login, one person. Every login on LE belongs to one person, who signs in as themselves — a login is never shared, and no one signs in as someone else. A person may hold more than one account: each personal account has its own login and subscription, and the business accounts you own or operate are reached from inside your own. A business account is run by its owner and the operators the owner adds, each from their own login; the owner is answerable for what is published under the business's name.

Handles are first come, first held, within LE's rules. Impersonating a person, a business, or LE itself is a breach of these Terms and ends the account.

4. The room

LE has no advertising, no algorithmic feed, no likes, and no counts. These are product decisions and are not going to change with scale. What LE has instead is the Love Editor^™, and three things that do not publish here.

The Love Editor^™. Everything you write on LE is read by the Love Editor, an AI, before it publishes. It reads what your words are doing. Words that would take from someone — their worth, their time, their answer — are held until they say the true thing. Nothing is published over a hold; you are shown what the words were doing and given the way through, and what is true of you is always welcome. You remain responsible for what you publish. The Love Editor is AI: it sees clearly most of the time and not always, it says so on every panel, and LE does not promise otherwise.

Three things do not publish, on any account. A link that fails LE's link check does not publish. A sale from a personal account does not publish; selling lives behind the business door. On a business account, a sales move built on manufactured urgency, invented lack, or fear does not publish, because a business here agreed to the Love Standard^™ before it came in.

Personal accounts do not sell. No prices, no "DM to order," no store or checkout links, no payment handles. Gifts and giveaways are welcome; naming where something came from is speech and always fine. Selling of any kind — including used goods — happens through a business account and nowhere else.

Links. Every web address typed anywhere on LE is checked before it can post. The check looks for what LE will not point people at: exploitation devices, ad networks, malware, predatory out-links, and sites selling what the Love Standard^™ excludes. Personal accounts may not post links to stores, checkouts, or social feeds. Business accounts may link to destinations LE has scanned and continues to scan. LE decides what LE links to; that is the whole promise of the room. LE does not control the sites it links to and does not guarantee them.

What is never allowed, on any account: child sexual exploitation or abuse in any form (LE reports to the authorities and cooperates fully); grooming or sexual contact with a minor; threats, incitement, or harassment; non-consensual intimate imagery; content you do not have the right to post; malware, scraping, automated access, or attempts to get around LE's systems; and using LE to take from people — manufactured urgency, invented lack, guilt, or fear as a lever — from a personal account, a business, or LE itself.

5. Your content

You own what you make. By posting it on LE you give LE a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to store, process, display, and transmit it — only as needed to run LE and show your content to the people you chose. That includes the reshare and repost features inside LE, so that when someone shares your post to their story, LE may show it there until you or they remove it. The license ends when you delete the content or close your account. Reshares and reposts inside LE point at your original rather than copying it, so when your original goes, they go with it. What remains is routine backups that age out on their own, and anything LE is legally required to preserve.

LE will never use your content to train an AI model, and LE's agreements with the AI companies it uses do not permit them to either. LE will never sell your content, put advertising on it, or license it to anyone.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you post, including permission from people who appear in it. If you believe something on LE infringes your copyright, write to LE's DMCA agent at dmca@wearele.com with the information the DMCA requires; LE acts on valid notices and honours valid counter-notices. Repeat infringers lose their accounts.

If you send LE ideas or suggestions about LE, LE may use them without owing you anything; LE never asks for them as a condition of anything.

6. LE's own work

The LE name, logo, the Love Standard^™ and Love Editor^™ names, Ellee, and LE's design, code, and text are LE's. You may not copy, sell, or present them as your own, or use LE's name to suggest LE endorses you. Your license to use LE belongs to you — or to the business, for a business account — is limited to using LE as it is offered, and ends when the account does.

7. Business accounts

A business account is opened by application, not by signup. The person answerable for the business must be 18 or older, must verify their identity through Stripe Identity, and must disclose truthfully what the business offers and how it is made or delivered. LE screens every application against the Love Standard^™ — no documented record of forced labor, animal cruelty, or environmental destruction behind what is sold; no fear-machine mechanics in how it is sold — and may decline any application. A declined application is not an accusation, and LE will say what it found. Whether a business meets the Standard is LE's judgment to make.

The business subscription is charged only when an application is approved. Approved businesses also agree to the Love Standard^™, and to: keep their disclosures true and re-attest annually; sell only products that have passed LE's product gate before being tagged; link only to destinations LE has scanned, and accept that LE re-reads those destinations and may pause a link, a product, or the storefront when something is found until it is fixed; and speak to customers without manufactured urgency, invented lack, guilt, or fear. A business that stops meeting the Standard is paused first and told exactly why; one that will not return to it is closed.

LE is a room, not a marketplace. Purchases happen on the business's own site, between the business and the buyer; LE is not a party to them, handles no goods or payments between members and businesses, and is not responsible for what a business sells, ships, or promises. LE does not guarantee any business customers, sales, or income.

Ownership of a business account can be handed to another LE member, and a business can be closed independently of the personal account that owns it. LE never closes a business account and a personal account together unless the owner chooses it.

8. Payment

LE is a paid subscription: a personal plan and a business plan, each billed monthly through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Closing your account cancels immediately; there is no refund for days remaining in the month, except where the law where you live gives you one. If a price ever changes, you will be told at least 14 days before it applies to you, and you may cancel before it does. Taxes are added where the law requires. Failed payments pause access until resolved. LE does not offer free trials or promotional pricing that silently converts.

9. Closing and being closed

You may close your account at any time from Settings → My Membership → Close My Account. What happens to your work is described there plainly before you confirm, and in the Privacy Policy.

LE may pause or close an account that breaches these Terms, the Love Standard, or LE's child-safety policy, or that puts other members in danger. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, LE tells you what happened and why, and a pause with a path back comes before a closure. Child-safety matters, impersonation, and deliberate attempts to defeat LE's systems are grounds for immediate closure. If LE itself ever shuts down, you will be told with as much notice as LE can give; billing stops, and nothing further is charged.

10. Reports

You may report content or an account to LE, from inside LE where a report control is offered or by writing to abuse@wearele.com. A single report does not, by itself, cause anything to happen to anyone; LE acts on patterns, not on one person's objection, and never on tone, taste, or disagreement. LE steps in when several people independently report the same thing, and sooner only where a child's safety or the law requires it. Reports are confidential, and making a report gives you no standing over the person you reported.

11. What LE promises, and does not

LE is provided as it is. LE promises to try — to keep the room working, safe, and true to what this document says. LE does not promise that it will never be down, never make a mistake, that any feature will stay exactly as it is, or that the Love Editor, the link check, the business screener, or Ellee will always see clearly. They are AI, and LE says so where you meet them. Nothing they say is professional advice.

To the fullest extent the law allows, LE disclaims implied warranties, and LE's total liability to you for anything arising from LE is limited to the amount you paid LE in the twelve months before the claim. LE is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what other members or businesses post, sell, or do. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer where you live.

You agree to cover LE's costs, including legal costs a court finds fair, if a third party brings a claim caused by your breach of these Terms or by what you posted.

12. If we disagree

If something goes wrong between you and LE, write to hello@wearele.com and give us 30 days to put it right; most things are fixable by two people talking. If it cannot be resolved that way, these Terms are governed by the law of North Dakota, and any claim is brought in the state or federal courts sitting in Burleigh County, North Dakota. LE does not ask you to waive class actions or to arbitrate. If you live somewhere whose consumer law gives you the right to sue at home or under your own law, you keep it.

13. Changes

LE may change these Terms. If a change matters to you, LE will tell you inside the app and by email at least 14 days before it takes effect; continuing to use LE after that date is acceptance. If you do not accept, close your account before the date; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing further is charged. Small clarifications may simply be posted here with a new date. The current version always lives at wearele.com/terms.

14. The whole agreement

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and LE's child-safety policy — and, for a business, the Love Standard^™ — are the complete agreement between you and LE. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest stands. LE's not enforcing a term today does not waive it tomorrow. You may not assign this agreement; LE may assign it to a successor that takes on LE under the same terms. Notices from LE to you go to the email on your account; notices from you to LE go to hello@wearele.com.
